You walk around a small shared street as a character, and when you get close enough to someone, your voices open up. Walk away and the conversation fades out on its own.

Why a street instead of a queue
A queue makes every conversation start cold — two people dropped face to face with nothing in common but the button they pressed. A place gives you the thing queues never had: an approach. You can see someone standing by the bench, decide to walk over, and both of you know what that means before anyone says a word.
It also makes leaving painless. There is no awkward goodbye and no next button to hit in someone's face — you just keep walking, and the audio fades with distance the way it does on a real street.
How stranger chat works here
- Pick a name and a colour. That is the whole sign-up — no email, no account, no phone number.
- Walk with WASD, the arrow keys, or by dragging on a phone.
- Get close to another walker and your mics open to each other, at a volume that follows the distance between you.
- Walk away when you are done. Nothing is saved and nothing is recorded.
What makes it different from other stranger chat sites
- Voice, not text. Real voices with real hesitations — tone carries most of a conversation.
- Proximity audio. Volume falls off with distance, so several conversations can share one street without becoming noise.

Staying comfortable while you chat
Use a first name or a made-up one — the name box is a handle, not an identity. Keep anything that identifies you (last name, school, workplace, where you live, your socials) to yourself; strangers stay interesting precisely because that is off the table. Mute at any time from the toolbar, and if a conversation is not going anywhere, walk out of range. Nobody can follow you off the street.
